Gorilla Trekking

Why Gorilla Trekking in Uganda is Adorable

I don’t think there is any other Africa country that offers ultimate gorilla safari experience like Uganda. All gorilla safaris in Uganda are valued and worth no matter when you choose to visit the country. Seeing gorillas is a must on a single trek though one can decide to track mountain gorilla twice and spend 2 hours with the giant creatures. Also Uganda has  gorilla habituation program in Rushaga sector of Bwindi impenetrable a process where tourists spend a full day with gorillas at only US$1500 afare price compared to a single trek in Rwanda another mountain gorilla tracking destination in Africa.

In both mountain gorilla parks: Mgahinga Gorilla National Park and Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, you will track gorillas in the protected jungle forest which was formerly a home to the pygmy people also called the Batwa who accepted to surrender their ancestral home for the conservation of mountain gorillas. Today, they only have forest trails that are major tourist attractions in both gorilla parks giving a true story of the ancient life of Ugandans. Gorilla tracking combined with ancient cultural trends is a very awesome travel experience in Uganda which makes the trek adorable.

Imagine entering a forest jungle early morning in search of the giant endangered mountain gorillas under the guidance of park rangers who know where the gorillas could be by the time your trek kicks off. An incredible moments comes when you meet them cooling off and living their usual life in the wild. Looking into the eyes of the silver backs is terrific but one of the things you can never forget. Another is being surrounded by  gorillas as you sit down to watch them and observe them, they instead make a circle around you and a lot goes around every one’s mind hence having a great time for gorilla viewing, observation and photography. In every gorilla park, tourists are allowed to spend only 60 minutes with the gorillas for conservation reasons.

Among all the habituated gorilla families in Uganda ready for tourists each day, Mgahinga has only one gorilla family called Nyakagezi while all others live in the four park sectors of Bwindi impenetrable national park. The four sectors include Buhoma, Ruhija,Rushaga and Nkuringo. There is a lot to enjoy during a Uganda gorilla safari tour to Mgahinga and Bwindi forest but birders call the parks paradise.

All gorilla parks are situated in the south western Uganda close to Rwanda and Congo making it easy for those interested in exploring multiple travel destinations in the regions. Tracking gorillas is perfect because even though you fly to Rwanda its very easy to connect to Uganda through Kyanika boarder and again back to Rwanda for your departure flight back home. No wildlife adventures compares to gorilla tracking and if done in Uganda, its more adorable than what you can imagine.
