Uganda Wildlife Education Centre (UWEC) remains an integral part of Uganda’s tourism sector. In fact it is what one would call a beginners start point to discovering Uganda rich history and biodiversity. Many Ugandans have had their first tourism experience with a trip to Uganda Wildlife Education Centre which is located in Entebbe, Wakiso district.
UWEC was founded in 1952 as an orphanage for wild animals, birds and reptiles
The expansive centre which was found in 1952 for conservation purpose is home to different animals, Birds and reptiles. Perhaps it is most famous for bringing lions, cheetahs, hynas, leopards, elephants closer to human being than they would in the wild.
Over the weekend, Experience Africa, a local tour operator in Eastern Africa, sponsored a number of bloggers with a trip to the historical centre to have a firsthand relationship with the most prized residents of the centre. We bring some catchy images from the trip.
