UWA Head Markets Uganda at UNAA Convention

A presentation detailing Tourism attractions, new products and investment opportunities in Uganda’s protected areas was one of the few that made it to the tight programme of the just ended 23rd Uganda North America Association (UNAA) convention in Denver, Colorado, USA in early September 2011.

Dr. Andrew Ggunga Seguya, the acting Executive Director, Uganda Wildlife Authority, made the presentation to hundreds of Ugandans and their friends living in North America under their umbrella organization (Uganda North America Association).

He the biggest gathering of Ugandans in the Diaspora that our national parks have got many tourism attractions including wildlife, waterfalls, natural scenery ,birds and water bodies among others. Key attractions include hotsprings in Semuliki National Park, Murchison Falls, and the tree climbing lions, mountaineering, golden monkeys and the recently launched Batwa Trail. He also said there several investment opportunities in the parks as UWA embarks on diversification of products like experiential tourism, hot air balloons and water rafting.

The convention was graced by Uganda’s vice president Edward Kiwanuka Ssekandi and the Parliament speaker Ms Rebecca Kadaga.
